JOBTREE — SALON JOB PLATFORM
Designed an intuitive job-matching platform connecting salon professionals with local opportunities, streamlining hiring for the beauty industry
Year :
2026
Industry :
Beauty & Salon Services
Client :
Confidential
Project Duration :
4 weeks

Problem :
Salon owners often hire through word of mouth or informal networks, making the process slow, unreliable, and hard to scale. Many job seekers in the industry also have limited digital literacy, so text heavy, complex job platforms don't work for them. Existing hiring apps weren't built with this audience in mind, leading to missed opportunities and inefficient hiring.

Solution :
JobTree simplifies local hiring through a visual, icon driven interface built for low literacy users. Salon owners can post jobs quickly using predefined roles, and job seekers can apply with minimal typing. By focusing on clarity, accessibility, and location based matching, the platform makes hiring faster and less stressful for everyone involved.

Challenge :
The main challenge was designing for salon owners and job seekers with limited digital literacy, while still keeping the platform simple enough without stripping away the features it needed to actually work. Striking that balance meant every screen had to earn its place, nothing could rely on the user already knowing how apps work.
I approached this by simplifying the UI with icons and visual cues instead of heavy text, so the interface could guide users intuitively rather than asking them to read and figure things out.
Summary :
The final design gave JobTree a clear, accessible interface built specifically for its audience. The client approved the design, and it's currently in development.
This project reinforced how thoughtful, accessible design can make technology usable for audiences who are often overlooked by typical app interfaces.
